SWIFT TC68 Tokenisation Standards Presentation

TECHT Labs was represented by founder Abrar Akhtar at the Swift-hosted ISO Technical Committee 68 (TC68) plenary on financial services, presenting a BSI proposal on the tokenisation of regulated financial instruments.

TC68 is responsible for widely adopted standards such as ISO 20022, which underpin messaging and interoperability across the financial industry. During the session, TECHT Labs emphasised how existing TC68 work on asset classification, taxonomy, and metadata for bonds, equities, and other instruments can be extended to smart contracts. This would ensure consistency across distributed ledgers, improve cross-chain interoperability, and accelerate adoption in regulated markets.

The team will continue to work with international delegates, liaisons, and subcommittees to identify overlaps with ISO TC307 (blockchain and distributed ledger technologies) and develop areas for joint collaboration.
