As part of the UK BSI delegation, TECHT Labs team members participated in meetings at the European Commission in Brussels, joining delegates from across Europe to advance blockchain standards.
The team presented a proposal for a new ISO standard on tokenisation of financial assets, addressing jurisdictional questions from other national representatives on how this could be implemented locally. Delegates also attended a demonstration from EBSI-NE showcasing the EU’s pilot projects for verifiable identity and educational credentials, with each member state running a node on the EBSI blockchain.
The meetings provided valuable feedback and alignment around use cases in financial and physical asset tokenisation, operational pain points in legacy systems, and the potential efficiencies in compliance, settlement, and liquidity. TECHT Labs will continue to onboard financial institutions and subject-matter experts to refine this New Work Item as it progresses through the ISO consensus process.
